Lion Premium Grills – Grilled Turkey for Thanksgiving!
It’s most definitely possible to cook your Thanksgiving turkey on a gas grill and we’re here to show you how! We have a fantastic recipe below for cooking your turkey and it’s actually a really simple process overall.
1 turkey (in the 10 lb. range)
1 1/2 teaspoons of black pepper
2 teaspoons of salt
1 stick of butter
Clean the outside of the turkey; empty the turkey of it’s contents, but make sure to save all of the giblets if you wish to make a seperate gravy or sauce for the turkey. Rinse the entire turkey inside and out. Dry. Coat the turkey with the softened butter, inside and out. Season the turkey with salt and pepper, both the inside and outside of the turkey. Once the desired levels of seasoning are achieved, tie up the turkey lacing / kitchen twine. Place the turkey in a roasting pan. Drizzle the turkey with additional olive oil if you’d like.
Preheat your grill (you can do this prior to prepping the turkey as well) by turning on all of your burners. You want the grill to each a temperature of roughly 450 degrees. Add some water to the pan and place it on the grill. Close the lid. This size of turkey will take 2 to 21/2 hours to fully cook; be sure to rotate the pan halfway through the cooking process. You may need to add more water at the half way point as well. Keep cooking until the turkey reaches a temperature of at least 165 degrees in the thicker parts of the turkey. You can also rebaste the turkey mid way through. Keep the lid closed as much as possible to maintain the proper cooking temperature.

Lion Premium Grills Featured Recipe: Grilled Ribeye Steak
While grilling a steak may seem self-explanatory, it’s all about the subtle techniques that makes a truly excellent steak. This month we have a delicious preparation of one of our favorites amongst all of us at Lion Premium Grills – the bone-in ribeye steak. With that said, this month’s recipe comes from renowned chef, Emeril Lagasse. It’s a very easy prep, but the end result is completely unbelievable as far as taste and flavor are concerned. This is one to remember, savor, and enjoy. Here’s the recipe:
- Four bone-in rib steaks
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- Emeril’s Original Essence or Creole Seasoning
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
INGREDIENTS FOR STEAK RUB
2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried thyme
- Allow the steaks to come to room temperature for up to 1 hour.
- Rub the steaks on both sides with the vegetable oil, and season them liberally with Original Essence, kosher salt, and pepper.
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees, and preheat a grill, grill pan, or cast-iron skillet to medium-high.
- Grill the steaks until they are seared on both sides, about 4 minutes per side. Then transfer the steaks to a baking sheet, place it in the oven, and cook until the meat reaches the desired temperature, 140 degrees for medium-rare.
- Remove the steaks from the oven and let them sit for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
